Professional Background
Mr. De Guzman is an associate of the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution Department, where he currently engages in civil, criminal, and commercial litigation. He actively takes part in the Firm’s trial and appellate practice and appears before the regular trial courts and various quasi-judicial bodies.
Mr. De Guzman obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 2009, where he was awarded the Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence. He is also a member of the Order of the Purple Feather, the Honor Society of the College of Law. Mr. De Guzman also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the same University, graduating cum laude in 2005.
Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. De Guzman was a Research Associate of the Institute for International Legal Studies of the University of the Philippines Law Center, where he provided research assistance in various fields of International Law and Philippine foreign policy. Mr. De Guzman is also a member of The International Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi as well as the Pi Gamma Mu Honor Society in Social Science.
Mr. De Guzman joined the Firm in 2009 and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2010.
