Professional Background

Mr. Tenefrancia is a Partner in the Litigation Department, Strategic & Developmental Projects Department, and Mining & Natural Resources Department. Mr. Tenefrancia specializes in election law, arbitration & alternative dispute resolution, as well as criminal, civil & commercial litigation. He served as Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs of the Presidential Management Staff, Office of the President; Acting Chief Presidential Legal Counsel; and Senior Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs under the Office of the President. He is also an active member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP), having served as Assistant Secretary and Director of the Makati Chapter and as member of the IBP National Committee on Legal Aid. Mr. Tenefrancia earned his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1990, graduating salutatorian. He was President of the UP Law Student Government and Chancellor of the Order of the Purple Feather Honor Society. Mr. Tenefrancia also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mining Engineering from the same university, graduating in 1985.
