Professional Background
Ms. Rivera is a Partner in the Corporate & Commercial Law Department, Strategic & Developmental Projects Department, and Mining & Natural Resources Department. Her practice areas include mergers & acquisitions, property development, mining & natural resources, administrative law, and government contracts. Ms. Rivera previously served in government in various capacities. She was Assistant Secretary for Legal in the Department of National Defense; Undersecretary in the Office of the Chief Presidential Legal Counsel and Office of the Executive Secretary in the Office of the President; and Assistant Secretary for Legal Affairs in the Presidential Management Staff in the Office of the President. She is a member of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Philippine Bar Association, UP Women Lawyers’ Circle, Federacion Internacional de Abogadas, and the Women Lawyers Association of the Philippines. Ms. Rivera earned her Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines College of Law in 1995, ranking 6th in her class and graduating with a Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence. She was also a member of the Order of the Purple Feather Honor Society. Admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1996, Ms. Rivera also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of the Philippines, where she graduated in 1989.
