Final Grace Period For ACR I-Card
|
On 13 November 2006, the Bureau of Immigration (“BI”) issued Memorandum Order No. AFF-06-020 giving all registered aliens a final grace period until 15 January 2007 to comply with the BI's Alien Certificate of Registration (“ACR”) I-Card requirement. Under the Implementing Guidelines for the ACR I-Card Project issued on 24 February 2004, all registered aliens (including their dependents) who have been duly issued paper-based ACRs and all other aliens who are required to register under the Alien Registration Act are enjoined to apply for and change their paper-based ACRs to ACR I-Cards. Any registered alien who fails to comply with the ACR I-Card requirement within the specified period shall be deemed not properly documented and shall be vigorously proceeded against under pertinent provisions of the Philippine Immigration Act and/or the Alien Registration Act of 1950, as amended.
